How this calculator works
The equivalent hourly rate divides gross annual salary by the working hours you enter. It is useful when comparing schedules with different weekly hours, but it does not place a value on benefits or paid leave. A change in assumed working weeks can materially change the comparison.
Formula
hourly rate = annual salary / (hours per week × weeks)
Assumptions & limitations
Gross pay before taxes; excludes overtime and benefits.
Worked example
A $52,000 salary over 2,080 hours equals $25 per hour.

Should paid leave count as working weeks?
Choose the basis you want to compare and use it consistently. Paid hours and actual worked hours can produce different hourly equivalents.
Does this account for overtime?
No. Annual salary is divided by the entered hours and weeks; use Overtime for separate overtime pay.
Is the equivalent hourly figure take-home pay?
No. Taxes, deductions and benefits are excluded.
